Are Americans poor ? The answer is a resounding YES. In Seattle Washington a few black (you must call them African Americans) kids laboriously collect from garbage tins contents like pieces of bread meat loaves and some boiled potatoes. Away from that scene a Mexican above 70 ( called illegal) plainly asks the whites for some cash. In USA American for all practical purposes means a "middle class white male". Another black woman with two teen aged children looks listlessly at everyone. She does not ask anything from anyone. Nobody gives her anything either. Snide remarks among the legal American whites go like this - these women create kids like pigs to claim welfare ( $400 for each) and the stupid Demos (democrats who are sightly pro poor) must stop Affirmative action . Affirmative action in US is what "Reservations" is in India.A black woman for that matter even a white woman with her second husband can not sterilise herself because the present husband being sick/old may be replaced by the third spouse who demands kids of his own. A widow in US is as good as dead. They marry for the fourth time at 75 and their children aged above 50 like it.

America has wide roads,tall buildings and big cars. Some cars big enough to be called vans having a single occupant driving for more than 240 miles just on a weakened trip after working for 70 hrs a week.

No hard feelings. If you have merit and willing to work hard migrate to USA. The quality of life for most is enviable.
